Bijlmer Run — Community Through Movement

On July 2nd, 2022, the Patta Foundation launched the first edition of the Bijlmer Run — a unique running event through Amsterdam-Zuidoost. The course highlighted the creativity, diversity, and beauty of the Bijlmer while bringing people together through sport. With a team relay, a free children’s run, and a half marathon featuring both recreational and elite runners, the event welcomed over 500 participants and turned Anton de Komplein into an all-day celebration with food, music, and community vibes.

Beyond running, the Bijlmer Run was about visibility, unity, and pride. It showcased hidden gems in the neighbourhood and connected people from all walks of life. Developed in collaboration with local runners, the Zuidoost district, and Global Sports Communications, the event aimed to inspire an active lifestyle and highlight the cultural richness of the area.

The result of this collaboration was the development of a vibrant event identity — including a dynamic logo, flexible visual system for both digital and print, and a campaign that increased awareness and participation beyond Amsterdam Zuidoost.
