The Black Archives — Visual Identity & Strategy Support

The Black Archives is a historical archive and cultural institution in Amsterdam that highlights overlooked stories and literature from Black and other marginalized perspectives. With collections focused on topics such as race, colonialism, feminism, and the African diaspora, it plays a vital role in preserving and sharing Black heritage in the Netherlands.

Collaborating with The Black Archives led to the development of a visual identity that both reflects its mission and resonates with its growing audience. Beyond the design work, the organisation was supported throughout the entire creative process — including hands-on training, strategic branding guidance, and digital consultation. This approach helped strengthen their internal capacity and establish a solid digital foundation.

Key outcomes:
Visual identity applied across location, exhibitions, and digital platforms
• Growth from 4K to 40K+ social media followers
• Established a media department with a consistent brand presence
• Increased engagement and visibility in both physical and digital spaces
